Sabre Supervisor - DevOps Engineer in ZonAmerica, Uruguay

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The DevOps Supervisor will manage a team of engineers that will build, deploy and maintain applications with the goal of continuous integration and keep up high availability systems. This position will oversee the infrastructures and deploy releases from testing through the production environments with traceability of all releases. This includes overseeing the build-out of environments and deployment scripts and processes.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will

  • Possess experience designing, building, maintaining, migrating, tuning, administering, supporting, and problem solving in complex server environments, working collaboratively with applications, network and systems teams to resolve problems.

  • Must have knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD), Automated Builds, Automated Deployments, Source Code Repositories, Automated Testing

  • Be a “hands-on” type of leader, proactive and dynamic person that works with high level guidelines and is able to lead the tactical day to day responsibilities of the team, which includes:

  • Provide third level technical support for application related hardware, software and network problems support utilizing monitoring tools and diagnostic methods.

  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of the systems in support of business processing requirements through automation, administration, configuration management, scripting, support and system builds from development and testing environments based on Linux and Windows servers. Interact with other teams to schedule installations, upgrades and maintaining them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

  • Work closely with architecture and engineering teams in order to define hardware and software platforms.

  • Maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.

Requirements:

  • We look for a B.A or B.S degree or equivalent, otherwise someone who has a proven record of experience in this role.

  • Minimum 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role required

  • Strong technical background, capable of working with different technologies

  • Strong communication and leadership skills. Experience leading with distributed teams preferred.

  • ITIL knowledge and experience is preferred.

  • Experience with the following technologies are a plus:

  • GIT, AWS, Java, Citrix, Tomcat, Zabbix, Snow, Orchestration or deployment tools like Puppet, Ansible, TeamCity, etc.

Supervises team responsible for providing technical/product support to field engineers/technicians who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging highly complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems and/or highly complex software. Serves as a mentor for less experienced team members.
